Our God Is Faithful

MORNING BY MORNING

After so much talk about building my faith, I’ve come to the conclusion that my faith is irrelevant without my experiential knowledge of His faithfulness. Every challenge in life is an opportunity for our faith to grow. There are times when our faith is challenged and despite how well we know His Word, a promise for the future can be shrouded in the dismal fog of the present.

The truth is, its not my faith that gets me through the challenges in life. It is His faithfulness. Yes, faith comes by hearing. But Jesus is faithful to us even when we are faithless. And our faith grows as He confirms His Word to us with or without our perfect confessions of faith.

With greater faith come greater victories. But a true and abiding faith will never be found at the end of my efforts to increase my faith. True and abiding faith is built as we come to truly know that He is faithful to do exactly what He said He will do.

So I thought I would share a few scriptures on the subject of His faithfulness. Enjoy!

Deuteronomy  7:9 Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, which keeps covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.

Psalm  40:8-11 I delight to do Your will, O my God: yes, Your law is within my heart. I have preached righteousness in the great congregation: see, I have not refrained my lips, O LORD, You know. I have not hid Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation: I have not concealed Your loving kindness and Your truth from the great congregation. Withhold not You Your tender mercies from me, O LORD: let Your loving kindness and Your truth continually preserve me.

Psalm 88:10-13 Will You show wonders to the dead? shall the dead arise and praise You? Selah. Shall Your loving kindness be declared in the grave? or Your faithfulness in destruction? Shall Your wonders be known in the dark? and Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? But to You have I cried, O LORD; and in the morning my prayer confronts You.

Psalm 89:1-2, 8 I will sing of the mercies of the LORD for ever: with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations. For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever: Your faithfulness shall You establish in the very heavens. O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like to You? or to Your faithfulness round about You?

Psalm 89:21-29 With whom my hand shall be established: my arm also shall strengthen him. The enemy shall not exact on him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him. But My faithfulness and My mercy shall be with him: and in My name shall his horn be exalted. I will set his hand also in the sea, and his right hand in the rivers. He shall cry to Me, You are my Father, my God, and the Rock of my salvation. Also I will make him my firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth. My mercy will I keep for him for ever more, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. His seed also will I make to endure for ever, and his throne as the days of heaven.

Psalm 92:1-2 IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH: To show forth Your loving kindness in the morning, and Your faithfulness every night.

Psalm 119:89-90 For ever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven. Your faithfulness is to all generations: You have established the earth, and it stays.

Psalm 143:1-2 Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplications: in Your faithfulness answer me, and in Your righteousness. And enter not into judgment with Your servant: for in Your sight shall no man living be justified.

Isaiah 25:1 O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name; for You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.

Isaiah 49:7-12 Thus said the LORD, the Redeemer of Israel, and His Holy One, to Him whom man despises, to Him whom the nation abhors, to a Servant of rulers, Kings shall see and arise, princes also shall worship, because of the LORD that is faithful, and the Holy One of Israel, and He shall choose you. Thus said the LORD, In an acceptable time have I heard you, and in a day of salvation have I helped you: and I will preserve you, and give you for a covenant of the people, to establish the earth, to cause to inherit the desolate heritages;  That you may say to the prisoners, Go forth; to them that are in darkness, Show yourselves. They shall feed in the ways, and their pastures shall be in all high places. They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for He that has mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall He guide them. And I will make all My mountains a way, and My highways shall be exalted. Behold, these shall come from far: and, see, these from the north and from the west; and these from the land of Sinim.

Lamentations 3:21-26 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the LORD’s mercies that we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is Your faithfulness. The LORD is my portion, said my soul; therefore will I hope in Him. The LORD is good to them that wait for Him, to the soul that seeks Him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.

Hosea 2:19-20 And I will betroth you to Me for ever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving kindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth you to Me in faithfulness: and you shall know the LORD.

1Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom you were called to the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Galatians 3:6-9 Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know you therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel to Abraham, saying, In you shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham.

1Thessalonians 5:23-24 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless to the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He that calls you, Who also will do it.

2Thessalonians 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall establish you, and keep you from evil.

2Timothy 2:13 If we believe not, yet He stays faithful: He cannot deny Himself.

Hebrews 10:23-24 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke to love and to good works.

1John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Revelation 1:4-6 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be to you, and peace, from Him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before His throne; And from Jesus Christ, Who is The Faithful Witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, And has made us kings and priests to God and His Father; to Him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Revelation 19:11-14 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself. And He was clothed with a clothing dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed Him on white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

Revelation 21:5-7 And He that sat on the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.  And He said to me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And He said to me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give to him that is thirsty of the fountain of the water of life freely. He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be My son.

Hebrews 11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, BECAUSE SHE JUDGED HIM FAITHFUL WHO HAD PROMISED IT!
